The J-Bass type is a body shape that is highly regarded by many players for its contoured comfort, including the parts that fit closely to the body such as the armrest.
Poplar wood is widely used as a bass guitar body material due to its similarity in sound characteristics to the traditional and commonly used Alder wood, but with the advantage of being a lightweight hardwood.
By adding basswood to the top and back parts and bolted joint areas, it enhances the hardness of the joint and reinforces the mid-to-low range sound.
It has a sound characteristic that does not lean to one side because it delivers a flat sound from the low range to the high range. In other words, it has the advantage of being able to handle various genres of music.
The body is finished with a glossy coating and is available in three colors: Floral White, Jet Black, and Uranus Blue.
For each color, a white, black, or tortoise pickguard is color-matched to create an attractive appearance.
The well-dried hard maple neck is very sturdy and enhances the reliability of playing.
Even those with relatively small hands can play comfortably with the slim C-shaped neck profile. A skunk stripe is added to the back center of the neck to further improve durability.
Since it is finished with a matte coating, you can feel a smoother playing sensation when changing positions or sliding with your left hand.
The strong bolt-on neck joint, which supports 4 points, ensures stability and long sustain.
In addition, the bolt-on neck has many advantages in repair and maintenance because it can separate the neck and body.
Especially, the semi-round neck joint plate is processed with smooth curves on the edges, making it easier to play with the left hand around the 18-20 frets, where high-position playing is required.
TThe contoured logo headstock plate and black PPS nut enhance the sustain of the guitar string and produce a clear tone due to the properties of the thermoplastic material that is durable and heat resistant.
The truss rod adjustment allows for the correction of the neck's curvature, and the reinforced plastic material of the truss rod hole protects the wood from damage caused by the use of a metal hex wrench.
The 21:1 gear ratio of the vintage-style tuning machines provides precise tuning control. Additionally, the design minimizes backlash, which can occur due to the gaps between meshed gears, ensuring stable tuning.
The fretboard has a 9.5-inch (241mm) radius and is made of either maple or purpleheart, with 20 medium-jumbo frets securely installed and a 34-inch (864mm) scale.
For the Floral White color, a maple fretboard is used, which highlights the crispy and bright high-end tones due to the characteristics of hard maple hardwood.
For the Jet Black and Uranus Blue colors, a purpleheart fretboard is used, which delivers a dense and full sound in the mid-range due to the characteristics of the purpleheart wood.
The pickup poles are made using a mixture of ferrite, barium carbonate, strontium, and ceramic, commonly known as ceramic magnets.
Ceramic pickups have the advantage of having a relatively strong magnetic field that can maintain its strength over time. They produce a powerful output and a distinctive sound with plenty of edge.
By adjusting the neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume, and tone knob, you can achieve a range of tones from sharp and piercing to soft and mellow.
When the two single-coil pickups have opposite phase and equal volume, they cancel out a significant portion of the 60Hz hum noise.
The guitar is equipped with a 4-saddle vintage-type bridge, which is commonly used on jazz bass guitars.
Jazz bass guitars require precise settings such as intonation, pickup spacing, and pitch for delicate playing, and they need a reliable bridge that can provide such settings.
The four saddles can be adjusted for height individually with a hex wrench, allowing the player to adjust the spacing between the pickups and the strings, as well as the string height, to their liking.
A durable 15mm pad provides great protection for the guitar.
When placed on the ground in a standing position, a thick pad is added to prevent damage to the bottom of the guitar from strap-pin impacts.
It also features a neck pillow for protection and stability, and wear-resistant fabric is added to areas of contact with metal parts such as strings, tuning machines, and bridges to prevent wear and tear caused by friction.
